Debenhams Foundation

Debenhams Foundation

The pride and passion of our employees extends into the communities we serve and in 2012 the Debenhams Foundation was established to ensure we could support the charities and causes that are close to our colleagues and customers hearts.

Since its inception, over £5m has been raised in support of our charity partners, including BBC Children in Need, Breast Cancer Now and Help for Heroes in the UK and Make a Wish and Breast Cancer Ireland in ROI.

In 2016 alone over £2 million was raised through in-store and head office fundraising, product donations, large events such as the Debenhams Foundation Ball and donations from our 5p carrier bags.

In addition to our key charity partners, the Debenhams Foundation – charity number 1147682 – also supports local charities which operate in the Debenhams store community, ad hoc international relief via the Disasters Emergency Committee and other charity activity as deemed suitable by the Foundation’s Trustees.

Nikki Zamblera, chair of the trustees, is joined by former Debenhams’ senior managers, Pat Skinner and Keith Markham, in overseeing the efficient running of the Foundation.

The Foundation also manages the annual donation of funds from Debenhams plc to the Debenhams Retirement Association.
